Book Launch: Stormy Weather by David Corlett.
David was in conversation with Simon Northeast, criminal lawyer for the Launch of Stormy Weather: The Challenge of Climate Change and Displacement. Held to a packed crowd on the evening of Friday December 5th 2008 at Great Escape Books, David’s discussion about the impact of climate change upon the world community resonated strongly with the audience.

David is also the author of Following Them Home: The Fate of the Returned Asylum Seekers (Black Inc 2005) and with Robert Manne, Sending Them Home: Refugees and the New Politics of Indifference (Quarterly Essay 13, Black Inc 2004).

David has been published widely, including in The Monthly, The Age, The Quarterly Essay, The Canberra Times, The University of New South Wales Law Journal and Dissent. He is currently an Adjunct Research Fellow at Swinburne University’s Institute for Social Research and Honorary Research Fellow at La Trobe University.

David is very well known in our community for his extensive work in heightening awareness of the plight of asylum seekers, including during Excised with Paddling for Refugees and Asylum Seekers (PRAS) last year. Check out David’s website: www.safecom.org.au/following-them-home.htm
