A Year of Last Things by Michael Ondaatje (Hardback) – Our Review

Our Review…

A Year of Last Things is a collection of poetry that looks back with tenderness and love to squeeze wisdom and understanding out of the journeys we make throughout life.

With Dutch-Tamil-Sinhalese-Portuguese family origin’s, raised in Sri Lanka and now residing in Canada, Michael Ondaatje’s poetry is all encompassing in a way that only someone with his global citizenship and vast life experience could begin to piece together.

This collection of poems champions action and change rather than divine intervention or fate and shows us how to find value in every person we meet and place we visit, so when we ourselves reflect on our ‘last things,’ we can do so with no regrets.

This collection isn’t just for those who loved his Man Booker winning novel The English Patient but for poetry lovers of all ages and a different form for those drawn to reading memoirs.
