Born Into This by Adam Thompson – Our Review
Adam Thompson’s, ‘Born Into This’ is a remarkable collection of short stories from an important and fresh new voice in literature.
Adam is an emerging Aboriginal writer from Tasmania and his book is a thought provoking and engaging reflection on culture, racism, politics and the nature of place.
16 short stories make up this book, and each story is brilliantly written, engaging and a profound insight into what it means to be an Indigenous person in Australia today through the collective voice. Uniquely Tasmanian, the book is set amongst the land and is the perfect addition to the recent wise and essential Indigenous literature that we have gleaned so much knowledge from.
