Diary of a Tuscan Bookshop: The heartwarming story that inspired a nation, now an international bestseller by Alba Donati – Our Review

Our Review…

If you feel like an Italian escape, this book is for you!

This is the diary of Alba Donati, who gave up the hustle and bustle of book publicity in Florence to open a quaint bookstore in her home village of Lucignana. Filled to the brim with beautiful scenery and quirky locals, this diary will transport you to the other side of the world. The entries consist of daily tales about the journey of opening a bookshop in a tiny town in the middle of a pandemic – there are red zone lockdowns, import restrictions and even a fire! Alba’s background in poetry seeps throughout the book and her knowledge of authors is incredible.

My favourite part of the diary was the list of books she had to order in at the end of each day.

A heart-warming tale – the perfect gift for Mother’s Day!
