Atmosphere by Taylor Jenkins Reid – Our Review

Our Review…

Bestselling author of The Seven Husbands of Everlyn Hugo, Daisy Jones & The Six, and Carrie Soto is Back, Taylor Jenkins Reid knows how to write a fantastic novel and Atmosphere is no exception.

It’s 1980 and physics and astronomy professor Joan Goodwin is training to become one of NASA’ first female astronauts. Joan must endure grueling physical and mental challenges while navigating camaraderie, the pressure of proving herself in a male-dominated space agency, and a passion and love she never saw coming. However, in space travel everything can change, in a single, heart pounding, instant.

While today it seems anyone can go to space (looking at you, Katy Perry), Reid brings to life the awe, intensity and the unknown of the early days of space exploration – along with the deep-rooted sexism and homophobia that accompanied those times.

Ultimately this is a love story, and one that is sure to have you tightly in its grip by the time you reach its heart wrenching conclusion. Jenkins Reid is truly a master of her craft and Atmosphere is an absolute must-read.
