Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman
Eleanor is a thirty-year-old woman who has never learned how to live or love. A loner with few social skills, she is also smart and quirky and has a wicked sense of humour.
Her rigidly ordered world is upturned early in the novel and the roller coaster journey that follows is both heartbreakingly sad and laugh-out-loud funny.
We loved Eleanor’s journey in this story and what is at the heart of Eleanor’s problems, is a dangling mystery as the reader comes to get to know her and understand her.
A literary, yet hilarious story of loneliness and how a little bit of kindness can have a massive impact. Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine is a story about routine, survival and the longing for something more than just fine.
This is an exceptionally touching novel. It is also smart and funny and will stay with you long after reading the last page.
