Exiles by Jane Harper – Our Review

Our Review…

Mystery strikes when a baby is found abandoned in a pram at the much-anticipated local event, the Marralee Food and Wine Festival. However, while the baby is found, the baby’s mother – Kim Gillespie, has simply vanished without a trace.

Aaron Falk, federal investigator, and the character we have come to love through the book series, is in town ready to celebrate the christening of his good friends Rita and Greg Raco’s baby. But in the frantic search for Kim, the christening is postponed.

A year has passed, and now Falk is back to officially become godfather through the postponed celebration. Being amongst the familiar faces has Falk struggling to stick to the personal nature of his visit – what happened to Kim and who in this close-knit group of family and friends he is surrounded by must know something.

Enter Gemma and the chemistry between the two is electric. But the mystery deepens as Falk learns that Gemma’s husband died in a suspicious hit and run five years ago, and no one has ever been apprehended over the death. What are the odds that two suspicious incidents in the small town aren’t connected? Falk is about to find out.

While there is certainly sadness that this is final book in the Aaron Falk series, ‘Exiles’ is a worthy conclusion and it will leave you desperately wanting to go back and read each book once again.
