Freckles by Cecelia Ahern – Our Review
Allegra Bird, aka Freckles is a quirky character that has lives a solitary life, in a highly constructed world that she has made for herself.
But when a stranger utters the phrase, “You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with”, Freckles just can’t let it go.
Having left her unusual father and odd childhood behind, Freckles was happy in her highly controlled life, and working as a parking inspector but now all of that is at risk of being derailed all because or one stranger.
She begins to wonder, who are the people that have shaped her and who is she really? What will her future look like based on who she encounters in her inner circle.
Narrated in her own voice, the story slowing unfolds into an intriguing, tender story about understanding oneself and growing into one’s own skin.
