Haven’t They Grown by Sophie Hannah- Our Review

Our Review… Strap yourself in for a fast-paced psychological thriller.

This refreshing mystery is populated with entirely likable characters. Opening with Beth who has volunteered on her ‘week off’ to drive her 16 yr old son Caleb, over two hours to his football match. Beth is feeling slightly guilty for actually wanting to check in on the property where her ex-best friend Flora lives, quite near the football ground. When a range rover glides past she sees something’s horribly wrong.

Flora still looks the same, impeccably groomed and a little older – just what you’d expect, but her children Thomas and Emily, in the twelve years they have been out of touch, haven’t aged a day – they are still tiny toddlers.

What I really loved about this novel is Beth returns home and actually spills the beans to her family – who don’t dismiss her as delusional, but in the case of her daughter, the sassy Zannah, become actively involved. With so many twists and turns, this is a super fun read for the beach or with a glass of wine on a hot day!
