House of Hollow by Krystal Sutherland – Our Review

Our Review…

Be drawn into this fabulously dark gothic tale of three young sisters who disappear one evening, only to be mysteriously reappear in the same spot one month later. They are apparently unscathed, except with no recollection of where they went, or why they have a half moon scar at the base of their neck. Their hair and eyes changed causing their father to be suspicious, but everyone else is glad to have them back unharmed.

Years pass and the youngest sister Iris tries to hide under the radar- trying to avoid the weirdness that sticks like tar to the reputations of her two glamorous older siblings Grey and Vivi. Protected and adored by her mother, Iris thinks she can dodge the darkness at the heart of her family, when her eldest sister Grey vanishes. While it is not unusual for Grey to go off radar for a few days, the horned men who start following Iris and the bodies falling from ceilings certainly is.

Compelled, Iris and Vivi venture into the heart of darkness to find Grey and along the way discover the real horror of who or what they all are. Marvellously unsettling, I literally fell down the rabbit hole and let this haunting tale sweep me away. Fabulous for older teens – adults.
