I Give My Marriage A Year by Holly Wainwright – Our Review
Holly Wainwright is just so incredibly talented at creating books that are so frighteningly relatable that you become entirely enveloped by the world the book is set in, her latest book ‘I Give My Marriage A Year’ is no exception.
Lou and Josh have been together for fourteen years. Fourteen years is a long time, and with it comes a lot of shared baggage. Raising two children together, the pressure of a mortgage and juggling careers, dreams and aspirations is a lot for any couple.
After an especially crappy Christmas, Lou is questioning whether her marriage is something she wants to keep working at or whether it is time to move on.
So she commits to give her marriage a year. A year of whacky, funny and uncomfortable challenges to see whether the love Lou and Josh once shared can be uncovered again. Painful truths are unearthed, awkward silences ensue and their marriage is well and truly exposed.
A hilariously tantamount snapshot of what marriage really is like, that will leave you disturbingly invested right until the end.
