The Morbids by Ewa Ramsey – Our Review

ABIA Longlist 2021 – General Fiction Book of the Year

Our review…
‘The Morbids’ by Ewa Ramsey is quirky, quick witted and filled with an unflinchingly fabulous grim humour!

The Morbids is the support group that twenty year old Caitlin attends to be amongst others that also suffer with anxiety centered around death.

Caitlin would have described herself like any regular girl before the debilitating fatal car accident that triggered her anxiety.

Now Caitlin is left with this morbid curiosity as she unravels her own unique healing process. She spends time alone thinking, working in a casual job that is a welcome distraction from her inner world and avoids social interactions wherever possible.

But when her best friend asks Caitlin to be be maid of honour in her sickeningly loved up destination wedding, she is forced to get herself together.

Perhaps a serendipitous encounter with a stunning young doctor called Tom is just what Caitlin needs to help her feel again and to begin to dream about her future.

A book that authentically wrestles with real issues through a clever and amusing main character. Loved it!
