Mad Mabel by Sally Hepworth – Our Review

Our Review…

The latest thriller by Sally Hepworth could just be her best yet, with ‘Mad Mabel’ an entirely unputdownable novel.

Elsie Fitzpatrick is an elderly lady in her 80s who is quite an eccentric and certainly spirited but who no one would ever suspect of murder.

All is unravelled when Mabel discovers her neighbour to be dead, and the unsuspecting community come to learn that unassuming Elsie is actual the world renown “Mad Mabel” – the youngest Australian to be convicted of murder in the late 50’s.

When the media pounce, Mabel decides it is time to finally tell her story. To speak her truth.

This crime thriller is such a fantastic read, it is a twisty, cleverly crafted story that interweaves the backstory of complex, outstanding and touching characters. One that will take you by surprise in all the best ways, this would make a perfect gift.
