Midnight Sun by Stephenie Meyer – Our Review
Twilight fans rejoice! Stephenie Meyer has just published the fifth novel in the series after a twelve-year wait.
The narrative is ultimately a retelling of Twilight from Edward Cullen’s point of view. For those unfamiliar with the series, Edward Cullen is a broody ‘vegetarian’ vampire who falls in love with a clumsy yet beautiful human, Bella Swan.
Edward’s special ability is telepathy; however, Bella is the only person on earth whose mind he cannot read.
In Midnight Sun, we learn about his internal struggle with this love as he foresees the complicated nature of their lives together. Edward’s perspective also allows different insight into the characters that we have learned to love over the years.
This book is dedicated to fans of the original series and all 756 pages will be a trip down memory lane for readers. It is the light-hearted read we all need in these times.
