The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V.E. Schwab – Our Review

Our Review…

The ‘Invisible Life of Addie LaRue’ has been on my to-be-read pile for a while. It follows the life of Addie LaRue, who grew up in Villon, France in the 1700s. After being promised to an older man from her town, Addie makes a desperate plea to the Gods to save her from this marriage. She prays into the night until, finally, somebody answers.

Addie makes a deal with the devil for her everlasting freedom. Little does she know, there is a catch. She learns quickly that every person that she meets (including every person she knows and loves) will forget who she is. This leads to a heartbreaking, lonely and difficult journey for Addie.

Skip to 2014 and we see Addie living in New York, exploring the wonders of the city and taking each day as it comes. Over the centuries she has passed in and out of many lives, taken many names and has never been remembered. Until she meets Henry.

A great read that dips in and out of timelines, keeping you intrigued the whole way!
