The Ruling Class by Jennifer Lynn Barnes – Our Review

Jennifer Lynn Barnes showcases her trademark intrigue and suspense in The Ruling Class, previously published as The Fixer.

The story follows Tess Kendrick, who goes to stay with her sister only to find that she is no normal older sister. She is the ‘fixer’ of the Capitol, a person who makes the problems of powerful people disappear. And when Tess begins at Hardwicke School, a place of secrets, politics and power plays, she becomes her own sort of fixer for the people there.

However, a scandal forces both of the sisters’ double lives together, and Tess must discover who is behind the conspiracy before they find her. I loved this novel’s fast pace and twists, as well as the interesting and relatable characters. I would recommend it for people who have read A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder and One of Us is Lying, or anyone who loves a good mystery-thriller.
