The Space Between by Zara McDonald and Michelle Andrews – Our Review
ABIA Longlist 2021 – General Non-Fiction Book of the Year
The Space Between is an inspirational guide to navigating the chaos, questions and magic of life in your twenties. Michelle Andrews and Zara McDonald are the hosts of the award-winning popular culture podcast, Shameless, that is purposefully and cleverly made for “smart people who love dumb stuff”.
This book is the perfect gift for anybody in the midst of their twenties that may need some reassurance or guidance about everyday life. Filled with honest, brave and witty anecdotes, this is the relatable book we never knew we needed. Whist still in their twenties, Michelle and Zara have written about the realities of life at this age – not a guide about what life “should” be like.
The girls have included listicles such as: ‘everything a global pandemic taught us about friendship’, ‘the things you shouldn’t spend money on in your twenties, and the things you should’ and the checklist ‘Is he a closet sexist?’. This book has everything you need to know about love, ambition, mind and body, and voice. A wonderful, refreshing book that will leave readers feeling content – trusting that their life is on the right track.
