Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas – Our Review

Our Review…

Foray into the Kingdom of Rifthold and follow the journey of the notorious assassin Celaena Sardothien who has been dragged hissing and snarling out of the Saltmine deathcamps, who along with 23 other criminals from across the kingdom  is competing in a tournament before the feared King.

The only female in the tournament, if she wins, she will have the dubious honour as the King’s personal assassin and secure her freedom in four years…if she losses, it’s back to the hell pit of the Endovier slave mines.

Despite a year in chains, Celaena is a survivor and soon turns her beauty, quick wit and intelligence to finding unlikely allies and surviving in this brittle glass palace where evil lurks in deadly shadows beneath.

The Throne of Glass series has been described as bad-ass assassin mixed with Hunger Games, which is close to the mark with a dash a light romance thrown into the mix, which will please some readers.

A great fantasy read for ages 12 plus.
