Women on the Road Writers Weekend – Feb 19 & 20, 2011

The first Women on the Road Writers weekend proved to be a fabulous event and was thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended. We had over 200 patrons each session with people traveling from as far away as Bendigo, Daylesford, Mansfield, the Mornington Peninsula and many from Melbourne as well as Aireys, Angelsea and surrounding townships .The feedback has been amazing, from both the attendees and the speakers and we thank everyone for their kind responses.

For those who missed it, the line up of speakers was truly superb and as hosts we really had to pinch ourselves at what was occurring in front of us. The brainchild of playwright Hannie Rayson, the first Women on the Road Guest Speakers were; MaryAnne Carroll -TV producer, Kate Holden- writer & columnist for The Age, Judy Horacek- cartoonist, Toni Jordan- novelist, Cate Kennedy – novelist & poet, Sue Maslin – Film and TV Producer, Alice Pung – writer, Hannie Rayson- playwright, screenwriter, Amanda Smith – broadcaster from ABC Radio National & Rachel Ward – actress, writer and director of film and TV.
